Rome man charged with arson

A Rome man turned himself in at the Floyd County Jail Tuesday morning and was charged with a felony count of arson in the first degree from an incident that occurred on June 19, according to a Floyd County Jail report.

According to the report:

Adam Hawk Tamsula, 23, of 712 East 19th St., was charged for allegedly setting fire to six vehicles at Loyd?s Towing, located on Clifford Street.

He was released from jail Tuesday.

No TV shows, music or magazines for UK Google Nexus 7

When Google first announced its Android 4.1-powered Nexus 7 tablet with much fanfare earlier in June, it heavily promoted the fact that it would also use the Google Play store to download movies, TV shows, music, apps, books and magazines. As it turns out, that was just for the US version of the seven inch tablet.

The Inquirer is reporting that, according to Google, people in the UK who purchase the Nexus 7 won't be able to download any TV shows, music or magazines from the Google Play store. At the moment, Google simply doesn't have the proper licensing rights to offer that kind of content in the UK Google Play store. UK owners of the Nexus 7 will have to stick with downloading movies, apps and books.? There's no word when, or even if, the content in the US Google Play store will become available in the UK version.

The Nexus 7 tablet, made by Asus, should still be a very impressive tablet, with its quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and the new Jelly Bean version of the Android OS. It will become available for sale later this month for the price of just ?159 in the UK.

A construction crane lies collapsed at the Butte des Morts bridge on U.S. 41 near Oshkosh, Wis., on Thursday.

OSHKOSH, Wis. -- One person was killed and another injured when a crane collapsed at a highway construction site Thursday morning, authorities said.

A staffer with the Winnebago County Coroner's Office and the state Department of Transportation?confirmed the death to Newsradio 620 WTMJ.?Spancrete, based in?Waukesha, said one of its drivers, Joseph Bidler, 35, was killed, WTMJ TV reported.

DOT spokesman Kris Schuller said the incident happened about 9 a.m. on a causeway along U.S. 41 at Lake Butte De Morts when a crane collapsed as it was trying to lift a beam on a bridge.

The injured person was the crane operator,?the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.?That person is employed by Lunda Construction Co., based in Black River Falls, the Journal Sentinel said.?

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Department and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration are investigating, the Journal Sentinel said.

UK court: Mulcaire must reveal phone hacking names

LONDON (AP) ? Britain's Supreme Court says a private investigator must reveal who ordered him to hack mobile phone voice mails on behalf of a tabloid newspaper.

Glenn Mulcaire was jailed briefly in 2007 for eavesdropping on the phone messages of royal aides on behalf of the now-defunct News of the World.

Actor Steve Coogan is suing Mulcaire and Rupert Murdoch's News International after being told his phones had been hacked and wants Mulcaire to provide evidence for his case. News of the World was part of Murdoch's media empire.

Mulcaire attempted to refuse under laws that prevent self-incrimination, but the country's highest court ruled Wednesday that he must hand over the information.
